You Can Now Watch MLS Matches Live on Facebook – MLS & Univision Deportes Seals Massive Deal with Facebook
Starting from the 18th of this month, Americans and football lovers globally will be able to watch MLS matches live on Facebook without any charge. In a deal sealed last Friday, Univision in partnership with MLS will start streaming MLS matches live on its Facebook page.
Football lovers will be able to watch nothing less than 22 live matches during the MLS regular season and commentaries will be available in English language. Fans will be able to interact, get access to more digital content and engage with commentators during live matches as well. The live stream will be available on both PCs and mobile devices.
As part of the deal, the official MLS Facebook page will produce exclusive 40 Matchday Live shows of Major League soccer matches which will include highlights and analysis of the league matches being played that day across the league as well as previews of upcoming matches.
In a statement on the MLS soccer website, Juan Carlos Rodriguez – President of Univision Deportes said,
“As the undisputed home of soccer in the US, Univision Deportes, together with MLS and Facebook, is committed to growing the sport across platforms and regardless of language. Further engaging the more than 18 million English-language viewers that have watched soccer on Univision coupled with the continued success of our MLS broadcasts, including our record-setting season opener, is a natural path in this new era of content consumption.”
