Daniel Kanayo Daniel (born 22 May 1986) aka DKD is a Nigerian television and film actor, model, voice-over artist, and event host.
He is best known for his role as Bossman in the film, A Soldier’s Story for which he won both the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) and the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Best Actor in 2016, the first Nigerian actor to have received both awards in the same year.
DKD is also known for his roles in the period piece 76, which also starred Ramsey Noah, Chidi Mokeme, and Rita Dominic, and the lighthearted Mummy Dearest, which he co-starred with veteran Nigerian actress Liz Benson.
Daniel K Daniel Early Life & Education
Daniel is the first of four, he has two younger brothers and a sister who is the last. He grew up partly in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu because his parents lived in these three cities. His father – Engr Chris Daniel passed away in an accident when he was 18 so he and his siblings had to move to Abuja where His mother – Mrs Kande Daniel (Broadcast Journalist and former National President of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ), resides. He led the drama and debating club of his primary school, Command Children School. Almost always at the top of his class, he graduated into secondary school in 1996. He enrolled in Command Day Secondary School Enugu, and later transferred to Federal Government College Enugu in 1999 to complete his senior secondary education.
Career
After graduating from university in 2009, Daniel K Daniel first worked in Twinkle Catering Services, his uncle’s company located in Zamfara state, Nigeria.
Later, Daniel left the company for the movie industry. Before finally getting a role in the film industry, Daniel was a full time model. He once featured in Zanda Cosmetics TV commercials.
He was very good at what he did, modeling. Due to this, a Supermodel Steiner Eunice Opera called him for a movie audition. He obliged; without disappointing, Daniel gave in his best and finally left everyone wowed.
After this, he got a call to feature in a TV series; “All About Us.”
Due his expertise in explaining movie roles, Daniel’s rose to prominence after playing a role in the movie “A Soldier’s Tale.”

Daniel tied the knot with bride, Tina, in an awesome white wedding organized in Lagos on November 18th, 2017. The traditional ceremony earlier held in Anambra state. He has an estimated net worth of $1.5 million.
