2023: Wike Sends Message To Nigerians Expecting Announcement Of Preferred Presidential Candidate
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, tackled a reporter with BBC during an interview, as he sends messages to Nigerians expecting the announcement of his preferred presidential candidate ahead of the forthcoming 2023 election.
recalls that in 2022, Wike alongside the other aggrieved governors who have been at loggerheads with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, said they would announce their preferred presidential candidate in January 2023.
However, during an interview with BBC, the reporter questioned Wike on his candidate for the 2023 election referencing his promise to make the announcement.
Responding, the River state Governor tackled her and questioned why she and other Nigerians are in a hurry to know his preferred candidate.
According to Nyesom Wike, he didn’t mention a specific date for the announcement moreover, we are still in January.
Why Wike Should Resolve Rift With Atiku
Meanwhile, Wike has been urged to resolve his differences with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The leader of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) in the South, Musa Saidu, appealed to the governor on Thursday.
Speaking days before the February 25th presidential election, Saidu said Wike and his other G-5 members have every right to be aggrieved with the actions of any of his party leaders.
He, however, appealed to them to be open to reconciliation, saying the governor should not be seen or counted among those that pulled down a party he helped to build.
