Early Life and Education
Osas was born in Bronx, New York, United States, to Nigerian parents from Edo State. Most of her early life was spent oversea. She attended Pennsylvania State University, where she bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and dual minor degrees in Entrepreneurship and Theatre. She continued on to earn a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Acting from the Actor’s Studio Drama School at Pace University.

Osas’ interest in the industry started when she was about 12 or 13 years. Due to the fact that she had very low self- esteem because she was not proud of who she was and where she came from, growing up in Bronx, New Yoirk was tough. Then she was skinny and did not feel beautiful. Her parents then put her in a modelling school with the aim of improving her self-esteem. It was while she was there that she found her love in performing arts. She had a lucky break when she got a postcard to participate in an America co- pageant and out of 147 girls, she was the third runner-up. She earned $60 for that. That was a starting point for her because From there, she got to participate in other pageants where she won. She however took a break from pageants when she went back to school. After her masters, she decided to participate in Miss Black USA pageant in 2010 because she needed to pay for her semester in school. She participated and became the first Nigerian-American to be crowned Miss Black USA in the pageant’s 26-year history.
Osas has appeared in theatre productions that include The Colored Museum, Revenge of the King, Platanos and Collard Greens and For Colored Girls. Osas’ film & television credits include Cadillac Records, The Department, Tinsel, Gbomo Gbomo Express & Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns.
Osas ranked amongst the Top 3 National finalists in the American Black Film Festival/NBC Universal Star Project – monologue competition. Osas’ work as an actor, host, brand ambassador and humanitarian carry her throughout the United States, Africa and across the globe. As founder of the ‘Joyful Joy Foundation’, Osas remains deeply committed to ending Malaria, preventable disease and supporting poverty alleviation in Africa.
Relationship & Marriage
Gbenro Ajibade was the husband of the woman. He has worked as a model, actor, and producer. Since 2008, his most prominent role has been on the daytime program Tinsel. In July 2015, Osas and Gbenro exchanged their wedding vows.
In attendance at their wedding in the United States were family, friends, and fellow actors and actresses. The first daughter of Osas Ighodaro and Gbenro Ajibade was born on July 21, 2016.
Unfortunately, Osas Ighodaro and Gbenro Ajibade’s marriage did not last long before problems arose, resulting in their separation. After their breakup, they stopped following each other on social media and began to insult one another. Eventually, they separated.
Although Gbenro was seen with a woman on social media in early 2020, neither of them has remarried as of yet. However, he did not confirm whether or not they were dating.
