Early Life &Education
The Nigerian movie actor and musician, Uti Nwachukwu was born on August 3rd 1982 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nwachukwu in Ughelli.
Born and raised in Ughelli, Uti is the last child of his parents’ grown-up children. He is a native of Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria and hails from the Aboh Kingdom in the Ndokwa-East Local Government Area, Delta State.
Nwachukwu attended Igbinedion Education Centre for his secondary education and University of Nigeria Nsukka, and Benson Idahosa University, Benin City.
At University of Nigeria Nsukka he studied and bagged a Diploma in Computer Science and Education and Bachelor of Science degree from the other university (Benson Idahosa University, Benin City.)
Uti Nwachukwu Career
Uti broke into the Nigerian entertainment industry while as an undergraduate, featuring regularly in music videos, modeling in billboard adverts and finally contesting in “The Next Movie Stars” reality television competition in which he was the first runner up and which led to him getting parts in a few small screen production and movie roles in Nigeria.
On October 5th, 2008, he became the third contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother Africa house in season 3. Prior to being evicted, he was known for often teasing his fellow housemates especially, Mimi and Thami. He returned to Big Brother in 2010, contesting in the All-Stars Edition season 5 in which he lasted 91 days and ultimately won by defeating Munya in a final vote of 8 to 7. During the competition, he spent a combined total of 133 days in the Big Brother house.
After winning the Big Brother Africa All-Stars Edition season 5 competition, Uti has been involved in several projects majorly in the entertainment and fashion industry. He also has interest in charity work as he holds an annual event for the less privileged tagged “Uti Lead the Stars”.
Uti moved into acting in 2011, featuring in several Nollywood movies some of which include; The Changer, Finding Mercy, Nnenda, In the Cupboard, Broken Silence, Weekend Getaway, and Deep Inside. In early 2011, he recorded and released his first song titled; Once in my life. The video of the song was shot on May 2011 and was released in the summer of same year to much admiration of music fans around the continent.
