Chuwuemeka Nkem Ihedioha popularly known as Emeka Ihedioha is a Nigerian politician and businessman born on March 24, 1965.
Ihedioha was born in Mbutu Aboh Mbaise local Government Area in Imos state and resides in both Imo and Abuja.
He had his primary education at SDA primary school Abule Oja, Yaba Lagos and attended Ephraim’s secondary School, Owerrinta in Abia state for his secondary education.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.SC) degree in Food Science and Technology at the University of Lagos. He also took an executive course in Financial management at Stanford University and a leadership certificate course at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Political Career
Emeka Ihedioha was the Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria from June 2011 to June 2015 as preceded by Usman Bayero Nafada and succeeded by Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun.
He was the chief whip of the House of Representatives of Nigeria from November 2007 – June 2011 as preceeded by Bethel Amadi and Succeeded by Ishaka Mohammed Bawa.
He became a member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria in office from June 2003 to June 2007 as preceeded by Greg Egu.
Ihedioha is currently the Governor-Elect of Imo State, following the March 9 Gubernatorial election where he emerged winner under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
