There was a fire outbreak at Queens College in the Yaba area of Lagos state.
At Queens College in the Yaba district of Lagos state, a fire broke out.
According to Margaret Adeseye, director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the fire originated in a two-room boys’ quarters behind the staff housing at the all-girls school.
Adeseye, who corroborated the occurrence, claimed the two-room structure served as both a hotel and a shop.
She added that men from the state fire service swiftly put out the fire but that no casualties were reported.
“The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, the fire has since been put out by a combined effort of the Lagos State Fire Service and Federal Fire Service, while the police who were also alerted, prevented hoodlums from forcefully gaining access to the school premises. No life was lost in the incident,” she said in her report.
