Falz Slams Sanwo Olu, Police Over Death Of Pregnant Lawyer
Popular Nigerian rapper, actor, and lawyer Folarin Falana professionally known as Falz has penned down a lengthy statement for the Governor of Lagos State concerning the killing of a female lawyer in Lagos by a personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
It could be recalled that a pregnant lawyer, Raheem Bolanle was shot dead by a police officer on the 25th of December.
In a recent development, the Governor of Lagos, Sanwo-Olu issued a statement where he notified the public that the lawyer’s killer would be brought to justice. Along the line, the said police officer was suspended, an action which several Nigerian were not satisfied with.
Taking to his verified Twitter account, the Bop Daddy crooner via a statement noted how the Nigerian police killed several civilians after they refused to leave the streets of Lagos during the #EndSARS protest in October 2020. He further asserted that if proper justice wasn’t served, several Lagosians including himself would see it as an approach to welcome chaos.
“@jidesanwoolu @PoliceNG When we refused to leave the streets in October 2020, we were referred to as recalcitrant #EndSars youth that just wanted to make trouble. TWO YEARS after a panel made recommendations regarding those cases, they have still not been implemented.
“@jidesanwoolu @PoliceNG another man in police uniform took the life of a pregnant Bolanle Raheem on Christmas Day. If this person isn’t punished & all details PUBLISHED for everyone to see, I am afraid many will interpret that as an invitation to chaos. Humble advice,” the rapper-turned-activist tweeted.
