Our Gov’t Will Address Flood In Jigawa, Other States – Shettima
The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima, has assured that the party’s flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will address the flood disaster in Jigawa and other states if elected in 2023.
He made the promise in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, when he paid a courtesy call to the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi, over the 2022 flood incident.
Daily Trust reports that Jigawa was one of the states ravaged by floods in 2022, causing the displacement of thousands of people and the destruction of properties and farmlands worth billions of naira.
Shettima said though flood was a natural disaster that cannot be completely stopped, he assured that their administration would manage it to a substantial level if APC is re-elected.
He did not announce any cash donation in the presence of journalists but appealed to well-meaning individuals to support the flood victims.
The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu, said many lives were lost and properties worth billions of naira destroyed by the flood.
