Samsung Galaxy A22 5G is now Samsung’s cheapest 5G phone ever, dethroning the Galaxy A32 5G released earlier in January.
The phone was announced alongside a Galaxy A22 LTE version on Friday.
The Galaxy A22 LTE has a 6.4” HD+ AMOLED Infinity-U display, it has a 90Hz refresh rate which is now looking like the bare minimum for smartphones.
It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which is paired with 4/6GB of RAM, and 64/128GB of internal storage.
In terms of camera, there is a quad-camera setup at the back featuring a 48MP main shooter with optical image stabilization (OIS), 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 13MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy A22 5G features a bigger 6.6” HD+ TFT display with an Infinity-V notch. It has a 90hz refresh rate as well. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset which is paired with 4/6/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 1TB via the microSD card slot.
In terms of camera, it has a triple-camera setup featuring a 48MP main shooter with no OIS, 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera.
Both smartphones ship with Android 11 out of the box based on the One UI 3.1.
They have a 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for 15W fast charging. The both come with side-mounted fingerprint unlock.
The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy A22 LTE will be available in black, white, mint and violet colours and they will also retail for €229 and €249 respectively.
