Apple Announces iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max with 120Hz ProMotion Displays
Apple followed the announcement of the iPhone 13 and iPhone mini with the unveiling of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The flagship iPhone is powered by the new A15 Bionic, they now have up to 120Hz ProMotion high refresh rate display with more brightness than ever.
The new iPhone13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have 6.1” and 6.7” screens respectively with Super Retina XDR displays supporting variable refresh rates up to 120Hz. The notches on the new models are smaller but there is not much change in the design compared to last year’s models.
The new iPhones have upgraded three new camera systems. The wide camera can now take better low-light pictures thanks to its bigger sensor, while the ultrawide now has a wider aperture. The telephoto lens is now capable of 3x zoom and 6x optical zoom, and there is a new macro mode capable of taking shots at 2cm. Both models carry on the sensor-shift optical image stabilization from last year’s iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 Pro now supports Apple’s ProRes (in the upcoming iOS 15), new photographic styles and cinematic video introduced on the iPhone 13. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is powered by the A15 Bionic which Apple says is 50 percent faster than “the leading competition”. Battery life is now 1.5 hours stronger on the iPhone 13 Pro while it is now 2.5 hours stronger on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The 5G connection is now compatible with more carriers, while storage options are now from 128GB to 1TB for the first time in any iPhone.
Preorders begin Friday, September 17th and the iPhones will be available starting September 24th. Pricing begins at $999 for the 13 Pro while the base 13 Pro Max will set you back by $1,099.
