Esther Audu Early Life &Education
The well-known Nigerian actress and entrepreneur, Esther Audu was born on March 22nd, 1982 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. James Audu in Lagos.
Born Esther James Audu, Esther is known for featuring in the films Order of the Ring, Dinner, and Mystified in 2013, 2016, and 2017 respectively. Although she was born in Lagos, Esther is originally a native of Olamaboro, Kogi State.
In her family, she has five siblings and is the youngest amongst them all.
For her education, Esther had her basic education – elementary and secondary education – in Lagos. Later, her parents moved from Lagos to Abuja and so did she.
At Abuja, she completed her secondary education and gained admission to the prestigious University of Jos, Plateau State where she studied and bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (class of 2010.)
Career
She first appeared in a lead role in Ungodly Romance and Sins of Rachael in Jos by Alex Mouth, which she described as the first films that helped launch her career fully into Nollywood. She appeared in a movie called Fatal Mistake as a sub lead while she was still an undergraduate.Esther began her acting career in high school and stated that her dream was to be a newscaster. She was a member of the Drama and Literary clubs in secondary school, where she performed in stage plays.
However, in 1996, she was chosen to represent Nigeria at Kidafest in Ghana, and her passion for acting began to grow, and she abandoned her dream of becoming a newscaster.
Personal Life
Esther Ene Audu got married to Philip Ojire in 2016 and their union is blessed with a son named Ojire Chevaughn Chiyeme. Her husband is a movie producer and founder of Shirtfreak.
