Biography
Queen Nwokoye is a Nigerian actress. She is best known for starring as the lead character in a 2014 film titled Chetanna which earned her a “Best Actress” nomination at the 11th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Early Life and Education
Queen Nwokoye was born in Lagos on August 11, 1982, into the family of Mr. Nwokoye. She is from Ihembosi in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra state. Queen Nwokoye was born into a family of seven children, including three boys and four girls.
Her parents were devout Catholics, and she was raised in a strict Catholic household. Her mother and maternal grandmother were both teachers.
Queen Nwokoye grew up in Lagos and is currently 39 years old. She attended Airforce Nursery and Primary School, the Independence Layout primary school, and Ekulu primary school, all in Enugu for her primary education before finishing her basic education at Queens College, Enugu.
She continued her education at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where she studied Sociology and Anthropology.
In 2019, Queen Nwokoye lost her father and mother within 6 months. She was able to pull through the storm and face her life.
Queen Nwokoye Career
Nwokoye made her acting debut in 2004 (after her National Youth Service) in a movie titled: Nna Men ; and since then, she has starred in over two hundred home movies in the Nollywood. The beauty actress of vast credit actually confessed that she had wanted to further her education in Law before fate brought her to the acting scene. The screen star added that she gained the full support of her family when she started acted; which actually paved way for her outstanding performances in the acting ground.
However, Queen is well known for starring as the lead character in a 2014 film titled ‘Chetanna’. The Nigeria-born film actress featured in movies like: Nna Men (2004)- directed by Andy Chukwu; His Majesty (2004); The Girl is Mine (2004); Security Risk (2004); Save The Baby (2005); Back Drop (2005); Speak The Word (2006); My Girlfriend (2006); Last Kobo (2006). Others include: Lady of Faith (2006); Disco Dance (2006); Clash of Interest (2006); The Last Supper (2007) and When You Are Mine (2007).
