Career.
Mercy Johnson Okojie started her movie career in 2003. This was when she failed her JAMB exams and decided she was not going to sit at home idle. She then auditioned for a movie role and got the role of a possessed maid in the movie “The Maid”.
Her outstanding performance in “The Maid” marked the beginning of her success story as an actress. Since then, producers have been calling her for lead roles in movies. She has starred in over 200 films, some of which are Dumebi the dirty girl, Corporate maid, Desperate ladies, Heart of a fighter, Mercy the bus driver, 30 days in Atlanta to name a few.

In 2011, Mercy got married to the love of her life in one of the most controversial Nigerian marriages of all time. Mercy was neck deep into planning her wedding when the news broke on gossip blogs that a woman, Lovely Okojie had come out to announce that she was still married to Prince Odianosen Okojie from Uromi in Edo state. There were photos of this woman and two grown up children who apparently were Prince Okojie’s kids, to back up the claims. The story broke the internet at the time, with some fans trying to discourage her from going through with the wedding. Mercy who was apparently already bitten by the love bug at the time, insisted on marrying her fiance. The couple eventually got married at Christ Embassy Church, Oregun Lagos on August 27th, 2011. The couple is blessed with three children – a boy and two girls including Purity Ozioma Okojie, Henry Ozomia Okojie and Angel Onosetale Okojie who were all born in Maryland, United States of America.
She lost her mother in May 2018.
