Early Life and Education
Ireti Osayemi was born on January 14, 1982, in Liberia. She and her parents returned back to Nigeria during the Liberian civil war. She was raised in Lagos State and completed her education there. Ireti continued her education at the Lagos-based Ajumoni Secondary School where she received her West African Leaving Certificate after completing her primary school education.
Later, she went to Lagos State University in Ojo, Lagos, where she majored in economics and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
Career
Ireti Osayemi began her career professionally after joining the Nigerian movie industry in 1999. She got her first role in the movie “Cassanova”.
She features in both Yoruba and Englsih speaking movies having worked with the likes of Odunlade Adekola, Funke Akindele and Eniola Badmus.
Ever since she came to limelight, she has starred in over 150 movies including The Return of Jenifa, Spiritual war, Iseju meji, Ife Owo, Tomo Tiya, Torn Apart, Onfa Ife, Gbotemi and so on.
Personal Life
In 2008, Ireti Osayemi got married to a Nollywood movie producer Bakky Adeoye, and their marriage is blessed with two children.
She had her firstborn in 2007 before they got married and had their second child in the year 2009, after their marriage.
Recently, a rumour of divorce between her and her husband spread. But the talented actress denied it, saying there was nothing like that but the handwork of rumour mongers.
Her husband’s name is Bakky Adeoye. He is also a Nollywood movie producer. They both got married in the year 2008, and their union is blessed with two lovely kids.
