Genevieve Nnaji (born on 3 May 1979) is a globally recognised Nigerian actress, producer, model, businesswoman, musician, and director.
She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, earning her the first actor to win the award.

Nnaji had her secondary education at Methodist Girls College, Yaba, and later proceeded to the University of Lagos to study Theatre Arts. Due to some certain occurrence, she got pregnant at a young age and gave birth to a beautiful girl, Chimebuka. According to Genevieve, she didn’t know she was pregnant until it was too late to consider an abortion. Her Catholic parents due to their beliefs strongly stood against harming the unborn child. They said it pointless to cover an evil deed with another evil deed. Hence, she gave birth to the baby and nurtured the baby at home. This event caused a delay in her studies, but she got into the university after the child was born.

Genevieve Nnaji acted at the age of 8 in a popular soap opera, Ripples. She started earnestly at the age of 19 when she starred in the movie Most Wanted. She did well with her role and that opened doors after doors for her. Since then, Genny has featured in a lot of Nigerian movies like Last Party, Mark of the Beast, Sharon Stone Ijele and many more.
Genevieve Nnaji is one of the most successful actresses in Nigeria and it is believed that she is the highest paid actress in Nigeria. In 2009, Oprah Winfrey referred her as the Julia Roberts of Africa. It was announced in 2017 that Genny was starring in a movie titled Farming alongside Hollywood actors Damon Idris, Kate Beckinsale and Gugu Mbatha. The director of Farming, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje said that Farming will premiere on the 8th of September, 2018 at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
In 2011, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contributions to Nollywood.

Nnaji is not married but has a daughter, Chimebuka Nnaji, who was born when she was 17 years old. Rumor has had it that she had some relation with Dbanj and Atiku Abubakar at some point. However, she has not come out open on that issue.
In September 2017, it was reported that she had a secret wedding in Portugal to avoid the prying eyes of the media. According to the movie sources, Nnaji’s trip to Portugal was not unconnected with her secret wedding.
