Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Goes Official with Built-in S Pen and 5,000mAh Battery
Announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event on Wednesday, the Galaxy S22 Ultra offers another option for those who want more than the Galaxy S22 and the S22+.
The smartphone has a flat design similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It has built-in storage for the S Pen stylus which according to Samsung has a 70% improvement in latency over the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s S Pen. It is available in Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Burgundy colourways.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 6.8-inch QHD+ SuperAMOLED display with curved edges. The display is capable of a 120Hz refresh rate and can go up to 1,750 nits of brightness. Just like the Galaxy S22 and S22+, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset in the US and the Exynos 2200 in other markets. The 128GB storage option is fixed at 8GB RAM, but the 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options has a 12GB RAM option.

The smartphone has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging (no charger in the box), 15W wireless charging, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Connectivity options include UWB, 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. In the camera department, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 108MP primary camera, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto, and 10MP 10x telephoto. There’s also a 40MP selfie camera.
Pricing begins at $1,199 for the 8GB/128GB model and pre-orders are underway till later in February. Those who pre-order will get $200 in Samsung credit from Samsung.com and 25% off the newly released Galaxy Tab S8 as well.
