Francis Okechukwu Agu better known as Francis Agu is a renowned Nigerian movie actor, television personality, entrepreneur, entertainer, movie producer, and director.
Francis Agu Early Life &Education
The renowned Nigerian movie actor Francis Agu was born in the ’60s to the beautiful family of Mr. Fidelis and Mrs. Virginia Agu in Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Born on 18th February 1965, Francis is originally from Enugu-Ngwo, Enugu State. Enugu State is a State in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.
Being born into an Igbo Catholic family, Francis was held responsible for his actions. In fact, he was a member of altar boy and lector at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos.
Notably, Francis is the seventh child of his parents’ eight children.
He had his elementary and high school at Ladi-Lak Institute Alagomeji, Ebute-Metta, Lagos and St. Finbarr’s College, Lagos respectively.
Expectedly, he obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate and West African School Certificate in the respective schools.
Afterwards he gained admission to the prestigious University of Lagos (Unilag), where he studied and bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication.

Agu became a household name in the Nigerian entertainment industry after his appearance in the 1992 Nigerian film “Living in Bondage,” which starred him as Ichie Millionaire. He played the character Benny in the hit 1990s Amaka Igwe TV series, Checkmate. He made his first Stage appearance in the play “This is Our Chance”. His other stage plays include “The Gods Are Not to Blame” by Ola Rotimi, and “Trials of Brother Jero” by Wole Soyinka. He produced his first film “Jezebel ” in 1994. His other works as a producer and director include “Name of the Father”, “A Divine Call,” “The Boy is Mine,” “Body and Soul,” “Love and Pride,” among others

Agu became ill in October 2006 and died on March 20th, 2007 He died as a Bachelor at the age of 42.
