Biography
Born on the 5th of September 1980, in Auchi, Edo State, a town in southwest Nigeria. She grew up in Ibadan, Oyo state, still in the southwest. Born Toyin Aimakhu, she changed her name to Toyin Abraham in 2016. She claims that it was her family who made the decision to alter the name.Toyin attended Queen’s Staff School and later moved on to the St. Anne’s School in Ibadan. To further her education in a higher institution, she went to Iree Polytechnic in Osun State for a national diploma in Business Studies. Later on, she got a Philosophy degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University and also later returned to Iree Polytechnic to get an OND in Marketing. For an HND in marketing, she obtained in Ibadan Polytechnic.
Education
After completing her basic studies at a local school in her neighborhood, Toyin Aimakhu Abraham enrolled at St. Anne’s School; located in Ibadan, and was amongst the best graduating pupils of her set.
She applied for a Pre-National Diploma at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree; spending a couple of years at the Institution and furthering to an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) level.
Eventually, Toyin obtained a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Marketing from Ibadan Polytechnic.
Toyin Abraham Career
The Edo born actress began her career in 2003 when Nigerian film star, Bukky Wright, arrived Ibadan to shoot a movie. Toyin began by featuring in minor roles but soon gravitated to lead roles. Over the years, she has produced, directed and featured in several Nigerian films, such as Alakada, Alani, Baba Labake and Ebimi nito, Okafor’s Law and Ebimi ni.
In 2013, Toyin began her own business called TAJ Dresses boutique, which is situated in Lagos. In 2014, she signed a multimillion contract with a multimillion technological company named Vas2Net.
Personal LifeIn 2013, Toyin tied the knot with fellow Nigerian actor – Adeniyi Johnson. Unfortunately, the marriage only lasted for two years. Then, in July 2019, she had a traditional engagement with Kolawole Ajeyemi, an actor too and together they welcomed their first child in August 2019.
In 2016, she announced and publicized a change of name. She changed her name from Toyin Aimakhu to Toyin Abraham in 2016, and according to Toyin herself, the
change was as a result of her family’s decision. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, and cooking.
