Data Collectors at a Non-governmental Organization – 20 Openings

We are a non-governmental organization working on the improvement of health equity through sustained engagement with a core element approach that includes.

Research, Program delivery, Technical Assistance, and Education will be providing technical support for The Hepatitis Evaluation to Amplify Testing and Treatment (HEAT) PROJECT- 2022. In 2020, the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination (CGHE) launched the HEAT project to support HCV and HBV elimination programs in developing elimination-ready testing policies and strategies.

Nigeria has been selected to participate in the HEAT project given the high burden, need for scaled-up testing and treatment services, and foundational work to date to demonstrate the feasibility of hepatitis elimination. This project requires trained workers for a short-term implementation commitment within the capacity below:

Locations: Akwa Ibom & Nassarawa
Slots: 20 (10 positions per state)
Employment Type: Contract
Duration of engagement: 1 month minimum.

Job Description

The data collector rmust contribute to a seamless data management process that delivers quality data in line with approved protocol standards.

Duties
Their duties will include the following:

Conduct interviews/administer questionnaires in line with training and guidelines

Collect data from laboratory facilities

Ensure that all data is accurate and properly organized

To upload the results of interviews daily

To ensure the safe keeping of all study materials under his/her care

To hold daily debrief meetings.

To conduct any assigned duty as may be necessary for successful fieldwork.

Qualifications and Requirements

Residents in the study state are strongly preferred

A tertiary education (BSc, HND, OND, NCE etc.) degree or its equivalent

1-2 years of experience participating in qualitative/quantitative data collection

Passion for field research and demonstrable experience in using mobile-assisted technology in data collection, e.g., the use of a tablet/smartphone.

Familiarity with carrying out laboratory surveys at state/national levels in the past will be an added advantage

The ability to speak the local dialect fluently would be a major asset

Duration of engagement: 1-month minimum.
