Sullivan Chime Early Life
A native of Udi Town in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chime attended the College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) in Enugu for his secondary education from 1971 to 1976. He studied Law at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, graduating in 1980. He then enrolled at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos and graduated on 10 July 1981, when he was called to the bar.

For seventeen years Chime ran a private legal practice in Enugu. He was Secretary of Nigeria Bar Association, Enugu branch (1992 – 1994). Later, he was appointed Special Adviser (Legal Matters) to the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani. In 2001, he was appointed Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Enugu State.
In April 2007, Sullivan Chime successfully ran for governor of Enugu State on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He took office on May 29th, 2007, succeeding Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani. He was reelected on April 26th, 2011. H was succeeded by Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on May 29th, 2015.

On October 20th 2011, Chime, broke his silence on allegations that he impregnated his wife’s younger sister, and slept with a female permanent secretary in the state, saying there was no iota of truth in the reports of the alleged sex scandal published against him on the internet and some local news magazines. He however separated from his wife. They had children together including, Ada Chime, Ezinne Chime, Nnamdi Chime, Ugomsi Chime, and Tochukwu Chime.
