Early Life & Education
Jemima was born on the 30th of April, 1996, in Lagos, which falls in the southwestern part of Nigeria. He grew up in Lagos and has lived there all his life. She is the last child and only daughter of her parents and grew up with her mother, father, and older brothers. She attended Air Force Primary School for her elementary education, while she also attended Holy Child College for her secondary school education. Jemima had her tertiary education at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, where she studied physiotherapy.
Omotola’s reality show “The Real Me” made her the first Nigerian celebrity to own a reality show. In 2005, she became a United Nations WFP (World Food Programme) Ambassador, going to missions in Sierra- Leone and Liberia. In a list compiled by Yahoo in 2015, Omotola was listed among the highest-grossing movie stars one has never heard of; the listing included Shah Rukh Khan, Frank Welker, Bob Bergen, Jack Angel and others. Contrary to popular opinion, the actress said bedroom scenes are not glamorous.
In 2012, CNN Travel noted Omotola’s famous tongue (accent) on their list of the world’s 12 sexiest accents. Omotola lent her voice in 2010 to the Rewrite The Future Campaign of Save The Children UK. Through her NGO, Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme, she is known to be fierce human rights campaigner and philanthropist.
Career
Osunde’s first big break was her role as Laila in MTV Shuga, appearing in the fourth series. When the show moved to South Africa for its fifth series, Osunde was written out for a year. She returned for the sixth series when it returned to Nigeria. In 2018, she starred alongside Linda Ejiofor in the second series of NdaniTV’s Rumour Has It.
Osunde was back for the seventh series of MTV Shuga “Alone Together” which went out nightly featuring “lockdown” conversations between the main characters during lockdown from coronavirus. All of the filmings were done by the actors who include Lerato Walaza, Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Mamarumo Marokane , and Mohau Cele.
In 2020, she was in the cast of Quam’s Money, a follow-up to the 2018 film she starred in New Money. The follow-up story follows what happens when a security guard (Quam) suddenly becomes a multi-millionaire.
