Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who has served as Speaker of the House of Representatives and Governor of Sokoto state.
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was born on 10th January 1966 into the Tambuwal family of Sokoto state and an active member of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).

Politics
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal started his political career through the legislative process which he learned from Senator Abdullahi Wali while working as Personal Assistant on Legislative Affairs to Senator Abdullahi Wali in 1999 to 2000.
He served as the Speaker of the House of Representatives between 2011 – 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and was elected as the executive governor of Sokoto state in 2015.
In 2022, he won the Sokoto South senatorial party primary to contest for the 10th Nigerian senate in the 2023 General Elections according to INEC.

Aminu attended Tambuwal Primary School, Tambuwal, Sokoto State, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1979.
In 1984, he obtained the Teachers Grade 11 Certificate from Government Teachers’ College, Dogon-Daji,
He studied law at Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, graduating with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1991. He completed his one-year compulsory legal studies at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, obtained his BL and was called to the Bar in 1992.
