Google Discontinues the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G

Google is discontinuing the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G. With the Pixel 5A 5G already released and the launch of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro on the horizon, it is no surprise Google is not willing to sell the new stock of last year’s Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G anymore.

“With our current forecasts, we expect Google Store in the U.S. to sell out of Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 in the coming weeks following the launch of Pixel 5a (5G). The Pixel 5a (5G) is a great option for customers and delivers valuable hardware upgrades compared to the Pixel 4a (5G), all at a lower price point,” Google confirmed in a statement to Digital Trends.

Both the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A are currently unavailable on the US Google store, the only ones in stock are the Pixel 4A with no 5G and the newly released Pixel 5A 5G which won’t start shipping until August 26th. The situation won’t remain this way for long with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro expected to be released around the last week of September or the first week of October.
