Google Station: How to Use Google Free WiFi Service in Nigeria
Google free WIFI service, also to as Google Stations was recently launched in Nigeria on 26th July 2018. The launch is part of the plans by Google to make stable and reliable internet services available to people in developing countries across the world.
Google, in collaboration with 21st Century (an Internet Service Provider in Nigeria), has successfully set up the Google Station in several locations in Lagos, while promising to further expand the service across Lagos and to other Nigerian cities. We have compiled a simple step-by-step guide on how you can connect to the free Wi-Fi service.
Prior to the launch of the Google Station in Nigeria, four other developing countries have been benefitting from this service. These countries are India, Indonesia, Mexico and Thailand. The primary aim is to make reliable internet service accessible to people in these countries, so as to enhance business performance and commercial growth. This is the primary reason why these stations are being set up in commercial regions of these countries.
Currently, the Google station has only been launched in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria. However, Google has promised to expand this service to 5 more cities in different states by the end of the year. These sites include Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu and Abuja.
