How to Activate and Use eSIM on 9Mobile Network
In July, MTN became the first service provider in Nigeria to introduce eSIM. It was only a matter of time before other network service providers in Nigeria adopted it and 9Mobile has now followed suit. In this post, we will guide you on how to use eSIM on 9Mobile network.
Unlike the regular SIM, e-SIM is a digital based chip which a software can be installed on. eSIM replaces the traditional SIM card and you do not have to carry the plastic card along with you anymore.
As long as you have a compatible device, you can activate an eSIM on 9Mobile network. You can replace the traditional plastic SIM with an eSIM and do vice versa in case you lose your eSIM-compatible device.
How to Get an eSIM on 9Mobile Network
During the launch, 9Mobile’s Acting Marketing Director, Layi Onafowokan said the initiative was introduced to give its customers the most excellence experience advanced technology has to offer.
“Customers can walk into any of our select 9mobile Experience Centres to request an eSIM activation,” said Onafowokan. “A QR code will be provided to scan and download an eSIM profile and perform the usual SIM registration.”
Customers that walk into any 9Mobile Experience Centre and activate the eSIM will get up to 7GB free worth of data. If you already have the traditional SIM card and you want to replace with an eSIM, you only need to do a SIM swap.
